History of Volny Anonymous

"The most valuable support for former political prisoners is finances and employment", - this is what one of our wards believes.

Today, we are sharing Volny's opinion and feelings after his release - at his request, anonymously.

Volny:

"I found out about the initiative in Telegram channels, where posts with information about it were published. At first I decided not to give in with the motivation "no one will help me solve my problems but me". And then decided to give up anyway, because there is nothing to lose: maybe there will be something useful?

My expectations for the future have been exceeded many times over."

Volny notes that the plan after liberation was to evacuate:

"It was clear as soon as I left. It is imperative that someone help with this, as some evacuation issues are better resolved outside the country. Otherwise, there is a risk that the security forces will find someone who is interested in the "exit".

Problems of the Volnyja

"There were serious problems with money after the evacuation. I came to a new country, where I had to live, literally with 30 euros in my pocket.

It was difficult to find new contacts, to restore the circle of friends, to solve legalization problems. But the most difficult thing in emigration, especially if there are problems with foreign languages, is to find a job."

Therefore, Volny emphasizes that the most valuable support for former political prisoners is finances and employment.

Support of the Volnyja

"There was less support than I would have liked... That's why my mentor* within the framework of the project became such a support in many issues."

What changes do you feel after imprisonment?

"Became more silent. And there was less faith in people. But at the same time, there is much more faith in the minority that never betrays its principles, and also in the minority that is ready to help other people. In general, faith in people has decreased, but in these categories - much more. I also want to help people, this is very, very important."

The Volnyja initiative continues to help.
