The story of Kanstantin
Kanstantin's story began on August 9, 2020.
When police officers started detaining people in the square of a small town, the guy pushed one of them. Then he did not think that something terrible had happened.
After 9 months
"On May 12, 2021, they came with a search, during which nothing particularly important was found, but they were given 10 days for "disobedience during the search."
They opened a criminal case for 10 days," says Kanstantin.
Kanstantin was detained on June 17, 2021. He was charged under 3 articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sent to a colony under the general regime for 3 years.
Kanstantin was released on February 16, 2024. But the persecution did not end.
"Kanstantin arrivals of [police] officers at 12-3 in the morning when there is a small child at home. I was summoned to court on an administrative case. Then I packed up and left the country."
Now Kanstantin is in forced exile. He submitted documents for international protection and has not yet been able to prove himself.
Kanstantin notes that the most difficult part of adaptation after liberation was financial independence and a completely new life.
About adaptation
Kanstantin says that getting used to life in new conditions is difficult:
"It seems to me that it is not so easy to adapt completely, and I don't know how much time it will take. Everything boils down to a job I can't get until I'm given protection. Then there will be some plans."
About support
"Relatives and friends helped me when I was in prison and after my release. They supported me financially while I was in Belarus and encouraged me all the time. I owe a lot to my loved ones," recalls Kanstantin.
