The history of the Volnyja family

Kaciaryna says:

"There was a husband in the colony. She changed him a lot. I saw how much human life is not valued. How to treat the sick and old. It does not go unnoticed. He sees his wife and children through the bars, hears his daughter's words, "Dad, let's go home." I will never forget them. He became much more sentimental. And now I have a different attitude towards the zone and the people who are there."

"I had home chemistry. There was a revaluation of values. I began to appreciate more time with my family and ordinary walks, which used to seem like a normal thing, but when they were banned, I realized what I was deprived of," Kaciaryna shares.

What to do after imprisonment?

Kaciaryna says that there was no plan for the time after the release:

"We didn't even plan to go out. In general, they stopped planning anything, because my husband's colony and my chemistry have done their job. Everything seemed pointless."

Moving

"The decision to leave was very quick - immediately after another detention. That's why they didn't have time to prepare especially, even to make documents for the children. They ran through the forest with only backpacks. They didn't manage to sell anything in the Republic of Belarus, and it is no longer possible."

Emigration

"Immediately after the move, "Dapamoga" helped us a lot: we were able to live in the House for about 2.5 months. Friends supported, someone helped with money for the first time. Money was needed for house rent, children's school and other needs. For example, for the car, because they moved out of town, a lot of things for the house. As long as you don't have documents, you can't work officially, so help is necessary. And there were also medical issues."

Problems of the Volnyja

Kaciaryna believes that support is needed not only for Volnyja, but also for the whole family:

Volnyja need to ensure the availability of information, they need help in finding a job, financial and psychological help. If friends and understanding people are nearby, it is much easier to survive all this. Unfortunately, it's not quite happening yet."

Adaptation in emigration

Kaciaryna recalls that emigration once seemed impossible:

"I never wanted to eat and change my life like that. It may have been influenced by the fact that our life has been hell in recent years, but we managed to adapt very quickly. I didn't even notice it.

It is more difficult for children, I thought I would have to seek help from a psychologist, but after a couple of months everything returned to normal. The feeling of freedom overshadowed all other difficulties."

Maria Antos and Kaciaryna

"The whole family dreams of peace, so that no one touches and pulls us. For a healthy baby to be born, for my husband to succeed in the business he set out to do, for the eldest daughter to be able to continue dancing and to find a good coach and, of course, a house in the village here in Lithuania."
